Lake levels AND a Notice

Georgia Lake levels are all up. Below is the report. Lake Lanier will be full today, as it is raining. This is amazing as a year ago they were talking about 60 days of water left. All the lakes look good for fall and winter. If you are coming to the North Georgia Mountains we are expecting a dry period to start this Friday. It will be fall weather for sure. We are about a -2 weeks away from peak leaf season I think.

But there is a big exceptioon to this. Lake Raburn in North East Georgia has had a dam problem due to the rain. This lake is empty right now according to some friends of mine and will not be re-filled until some time in December. So Be advised

Georgia Lake Levels

Georgia Lake levels are up. But that is not the end of the good news. It appears that Lake Lanier, the largest lake East of the Mississippi will maintain higher lake levels in the future. We at all Mountain Realty have a great 3 bedroom 2 bathroom Home on the lake. It is in a cove and has a dock. It comes with a pontoon boat. Asking price is 349,900. Why so low. previous years have seen low lake levels and have depressed this market. You now have an opportunity to own on this great lake and have a clean and updated home. Contact us for more information

Lake Lanier update

Lake Lanier is an Army Corp of engineers lake. It is the largest man made lake East of the Mississippi. It has also been the subject of water wars between Georgia, Alabama. and Florida.

At the heart of the wars is the use of water from the Lake for the City of Atlanta. When the Lake was first built use by Atlanta was NOT included in the plan. This is a big oops!  Recently the courts have ruled that Atlanta has 3 years to find an alternate supply of water. What does this all mean?

Well the fight has been going on for 22 years at least and I am not sure it will end in 3 years. Georgia is trying to get Atlanta included in the use of the water. This makes total sense to me. But then who knows. In the end I think what will happen is new water sources will be added. They are long over due.

What this means for the folks on Lake Lanier in the long run is , I think, 100 percent good. New water sources will place less demand on the water from the lake. This in turn will keep lake levels up and mean that folks who own on the lake will see their property worth more due to the high lake levels and the ability to boat.

This is a great time to buy on Lake Lanier as folks are still recovering from the drought and the low lake levels. We have a great home now listed on the lake for 359,900. It is 3133 Lee Circle FMLS # 3948229. There is a dock as well as a pontoon boat that comes with the deal !!!
