There should be a law.......

Years ago while driving through Florida a stone fell from a bridge and cracked my windshield. It was a scary thing and I was upset about the obvious expense. But then a co-worker from Florida told me about a law that allowed me to make a claim and get reimbursed. I made the claim, filled out the forms, and got a check. I thought gee, This is a state standing behind their commitment to provide safe roads. I was happy.

Now I am writing this post because I have some time on my hands. I have that time on my hands because the glass doctor is replacing my windshield. Yes that's right ! And here there is no law. So instead of tax cuts and convoluted formulas that leave us all thinking that the other guy is getting over and finding loop holes in the tax code, why not have rebate laws!!

If a failure of a govt service causes you to have an expense then they pay. Nail in the tire, they pay. Windshield broken they pay. On hold for more than x amount of time to a govt agency then a 10 percent rebate on what ever you are about to right a check for. I felt good about Florida for a long time when they replaced my windshield. I would like to feel good again about my local politicians.
