Yes I know it was a bad pun. But I cannot help myself sometimes. This young lady and I met quite by accident as I was walking out my door. This is the second posting I am doing about deer in a few days. I am remembering my camera so I am getting some good shots. This is a good one of a surprised young lady. Enjoy!
Afternoon of the Fawn (photo)
We had a great deal of rain this winter and spring. It seemed the flowers and plants really loved it. Along with the flora comes the fauna. We have had a lot of fawns late this year. I was able to snap this one before it ran away.
Being a City kid for a lot of my life makes moments like this really special. Hope you all enjoy
Hey Mom, WAIT UP !!! Photos
One of the things that make working in the North Georgia Mountains is you never know what you are going to see. Our gated communities often have a large amount of green space and act as nature preserves. So today while driving to preview some land for a client coming in on Sunday as I went around the bend, this is what I was lucky enough to see;
Mama bear with kids in tow moving across a quiet country road. They all climbed the hill. Which I thought was pretty amazing
In the picture above you can see junior working to keep up with Mama who is up ahead and already blending in with the woods. Now it is tempting to get out of the car and work to snap closer pictures. But if you do that I can promise you a couple of things will happen. Mom will stop and make a Hum-pf noise. The cubs will scamper up a tree. Mom will paw the ground and start moving toward you ready to take on you, your car, and the horse you road in on if you have one.
This is life in North Georgia; Simple, beautiful and guarenteed to put a smile on your face
3 AM
This morning I woke up at 3 AM . Then I heard it . In the distance was the faint howl of a wolf. Two days ago I saw it crossing the road in front of me. Now this was a country road in the mountains. I knew the red wolf had been re-introduced to the mountains. I got a real good look at this animal as it strolled in front of me. My mind raced. OK not a dog, I have seen coyotes before. Could it be? Yes it was. And last night I woke up to their howl. There were 2 of them.
How great is it to live in the mountains!!!!! This is gated community living in the North Georgia Mountains. It just makes you smile. Come on and visit. You will smile too!!!!
Is it an alien?
Yes first there was a strange noise and then with Camera in hand i ran out the door. I was not looking up at the sky but down at the ground. This big Tom Turkey was moving through my yard and I managed to snap him going through.He looked to be about 20 pounds. which is big for a wild guy.
Ben Franklin wanted to make it our native bird due to its beauty and intelligence. Red Foxx joked about it. But when you think of gated communities do you think of this? If not think again . Beautiful Big Canoe or Benttree have these great birds running through them. The North Georgia Mountains are beautiful and timeless in their natural beauty as well as wild life.
