Big Canoe in The Snow

Well we really have been in the news as Big Canoe once again gets snowed in. Of course all the scenes are Atlanta, including the stuck cars etc.,  So what do things look like in the North Georgia Mountains in the snow ?

Big Canoe in the snow

This first image is part of our winter wonder land. The trees are covered in snow. It is interesting how in the snow landscape changes to a black and white view. This is a color photo.

This photo was taken a day later. The color is coming back to the woods. It is of the same area.

Big Canoe in the snow

We got about 7 inches of snow over 2 days.  Here yopu can see the mountains are covered.

The snow event started Tuesday. Many folks who live a little lower down than I do were able to move around OK by Friday. For me it was Saturday.

Now it is Sunday about 58 degrees and sunny and the snow is gone. For me aside from some sore muscles from 3 hours of digging it is becoming a memory.

The North Georgia mountains give you snow but then before you get crazy it melts away.

Charlie - Wow! I live up in Spokane, WA and we should be covered in ice and snow right now but instead are up to our ears in sunshine and greening grass... Absolutely been a crazy winter around here. Thanks for sharing the photos!

That is a pretty snow fall. Love the wet snow when it sticks to trees and branches

Charlie, Those are some nice photos!  It is amazing how much interest snow adds to photographs!

Hi Charlie, Thanks for sharing the photos and the experience of the weather in your area. I was tempted to show our 84 degree wetaher and decided it would be better to just commiserate with others about their weather, :-)

Hi Charlie,

Lovely photos of snow and ice on the trees and your balcony. Just thinking about touching the rail there makes me shiver. Hope your snow melts soon and it warms up. Happy Holidays.
