No one seriously considers bailing us out

As I watch the bailout debate  and the bailout bill morphing  I am struck by one thing. The boys and girls in DC say how complicated this all is . Well guess what  give the money to us. IT IS OUR MONEY in the form of taxes so give it to us. The hot blog says  take the 85 billion you gave AIG and give it to us so we can pay off our mortgages makes perfect sense. It is a lot less than 700 billion . There is precedent. After all we give 10 billion a month to a bunch of folks in Iraq who could care less about us.

Give us BACK our money. We will spend it. We will prime the pump big time. The last rebate was too small. Think big. After all you  folks in Washington have no problem thinking big when it comes to your fellow suits. What about us poor slobs who pay the bills?

So at the end of the day this really is not very complicated. Give the money to the consumers. We will spend our way out of the mess others created. Everybody will be happy. It isn't really very complicated at all. We obviously do not have the political clout that Wall Street does.

Yep, I agree. I need some new shoes....oh, and I could use some help with my credit debt as well!

I agree to a point, but part of the problem is no one held a gun to peoples heads and said spend the maximum your budget currently allows. The average person is to blame as well. So what do you think those people would do with money would they pay down debt and make life better, for the most part I think not. I dont fully agree with the bail out plan either but I think more people that are in the trenches should help influence their decisions.

You are soooo right....I have to laugh locally when the city council debates what they will do with "city property" ....or the "grant" from the state....and just who do they think the city and state are ? DUH...

Finally, a political blog that I can agree with.

I read one analysis on the $700 billion bailout that said each family could get $200,000. Now I don't know about you, but I could sure use $200,000, and I suspect I would spend a good amount of that going on a vacation, doing some more advertising for my businesses, buying a new car, etc. I suspect many others would, also. We could easily spend our way out of this mess. If you just send me $300 or $600, well, it's just going to go into my bank account like all my other paychecks. No big deal. I want: money, money, money, mooooooooooooney.
