In 2008 I felt like a Munchkin. Some one dropped a market on my House !!! The wicked witch had a Wall Street Address. Her minions were not flying Monkeys but Credit Default Swaps and CDO's.
So here are the questions . Are lower interest rates the Ruby Slippers ? Will Buyers come out? I think so. I think the storm is just about over. As Realtors maybe when we get to Emerald City we should be asking the Wizard for some Tums. But regardless, The opportunity is here. It is now . And in the end we will be better Realtors for it. And we will help many get into their dream homes which are now more affordable

HI Charlie... great way to tell the story. I just hope that the Wizard behind the curtain is not silly and cause more problems. I think we can weather this storm if we just duck our heads down and keep working and ignoring all the naysayers and doom and gloom folks. Because it really is a great time to buy for those who are ready and able.
Charlie...how funny....a great anology. Well....I can'f afford to think anything other than 2009 will be a better year...hope you have a good one... :)
I hope the Wizard really is one and not fake. We do need someone paying attention to the housing market and it issues. I'm wishing for a market bottom in 2009. Thanks for the analogy and humor.
Hi Charlie - Lower interest rates, plenty of inventory, and opportunities for a great price ought to be incentive for buyers to get active in this market. Loans are available and the time is right to buy.
Charlie- Great post. I hope the end of this storm is in sight, too! We're sure not in Kansas anymore.
Charlie,
Nice touch! Just follow that yellow brick road!!! Thanks, Fran
Charlie-awesome post and so very true...I think we can make 2009 great but its up to us! I really have enjoyed our interractons and really appreciate your wisdom. Thank you for your support throughout the year. Wishing you a very healthy, happy and prosperous 2009...I say its time to take our market back..good...bad or ugly...It's ours for the taking.
p.s. The Ruby slippers...bailout money...I want those shoes!
Charlie, What a great post. It reminds me of "I've fallen and I can't get up". Hopefully we will all get up and get back to some better business. Happy New Year.
Lower prices have been the key out here. One third of San Diego households can now afford a home, up from a mere 7% just 2½ years ago.
If my home inspection Clients are any indication, lots of foreigners are buying up American real estate.
Best wishes for health, happiness, peace, and prosperity in 2009.
Hi Charlie, One of my all time favorite movies of all time. Love it. Great post - let's see what 2009 brings.
